Study Finds Trade-In Programs Can Sway Customer Loyalty, Could Be To Apple's Benefit

We've heard the rumors that Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, is looking to increase the number of iPhones bought at Apple retail stores. The reason behind this is because Cook believes that the iPhone is a gateway product from which customers could then be shown how their phone integrates with a Mac computer and so on. Part of Cook's plan to make it more enticing would be to offer a trade-in program and according to a recent study by the NPD Group, they have found that offering a trade-in program could be beneficial as it has the potential to sway customer loyalty.
