JetBlue fills a plane with reporters for the ultimate Fly-Fi satellite internet test

Gate-to-gate WiFi is coming soon - perhaps even before the end of the year - but on the flight today, Fly-Fi came online above 10,000 feet. After a few minutes of inconsistency, the service screamed for the rest of our time in the air. I uploaded Instagram photos and videos and responded to tweets using my iPhone 5s, which was connected to JetBlue's free service, while my laptop was hooked up to the $9-per-hour Fly-Fi Plus. Both offerings performed just fine for basic surfing, but the paid version also excelled when it came to video streaming.

Huawei Ascend Mate 2 Gets Certified To Go On Sale In China

Huawei, the Chinese manufacturer of smartphones that seem to be getting better and better, has just had its Ascend Mate 2 to receive certification so that it can go on sale in China. The body that regulates such certification is TENAA, which is more or less the equivalent of the FCC here in the US. It is always nice to see products go through the certification process, since we will more often than not, be treated to additional photos from various angles and perhaps more information on the upcoming specifications.

Lightstrap Turns Your iPhone Into A Flash Ring

Lightstrap Turns Your iPhone Into A Flash Ring

When it comes to low-light photography with our smartphones, most phones tend to struggle, save for the Nokia Lumia 1020 and the LG G2, both of which appear to handle low-light photography relatively well, albeit somewhat noisier than I would have like, personally. For those who don't enjoy the noise on their photos, using flash would be the next best thing, although in most case using flash results in harsh photos, which Apple has attempted to correct in the iPhone 5s. Well if you're sick of having bad photos in low-light situations or night shots, then the Lightstrap is definitely a Kickstarter project worth checking out.

"Apple Picking" Is A New Smartphone Theft Technique You Need To Be Aware Of

Smartphone thefts are not new and we have seen how Apple and other companies have tried to mitigate this with anti-theft measures, such as Find my iPhone and Activation Lock being some of them, but it seems that in New York City and St. Louis, a new method of snatching iPhones has been uncovered which has led to the technique being coined, "Apple Picking". Basically it involves the thief approaching the victim and asking for the time, which admittedly seems innocent enough, but if you don't wear a watch, the next best thing would be to pull your phone from your pocket, right.

Subaru revisits 1998 Impreza 22B STI

Subaru revisits 1998 Impreza 22B STI

It was 1998 when Subaru made some crucial changes to its World Rally Championship Impreza, such as increasing the displacement of the turbocharged flat-four-cylinder engine from 2.0 to 2.2 liters and fitting wide fender flares. Subaru won the WRC manufacturer championship with the car that year, and it also was the year of the automaker's 40th anniversary. To celebrate the milestone, the company came out with this limited-edition, road-going Impreza, the hallowed 22B STI, which looked nearly identical to the rally car. Only 424 22Bs were built, and most of them stayed in Japan.

Natural Machines' 3D Printed Pizza Actually Looks Edible

We don't know about you, but we're obsessed with 3D printed pizza. As soon as 3D printers are able to allow us to create a pizza pie as well as that machine in Back to the Future 2, we'll gladly throw money at it. The first 3D printed pizza was shown off at SXSW Eco a few months ago from Anjan Contractor, but Natural Machines decided to show off their 3D printed pizza. PIZZA FIGHT.
Natural Machines is a Barcelona-based company that is working on a 3D printer specifically for food, which they call the Foodini. Their Foodini was used recently to print out the dough and sauce for a pizza, although the cheese and spices were added afterwards.

BlackBerry 10.2.1 Reportedly Launching In January 2014

BlackBerry has released the 10.2 update not too long ago and with every update, there is bound to be bug fixes, although it's safe to say that it would be impossible to catch them all, which is why updates are usually looked forward to as a means to quash existing bugs. However updates also bring about new features, and with BlackBerry 10.2.1, it will include the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean runtime, something which we're sure both developers and users are looking forward to, but so far apart from leaked builds, it is unclear as to when the update will be released to the masses.

Sony's PlayStation 4 is off to a good start for the most part, but it seems that over in the UK, the PS4 is doing more than just well as there are reports that the console has managed to achieve the title of the fastest selling console in UK history, beating out the Sony PSP's record sales of 185,000 at launch back in 2005. This is according to Chart-Track who claims that the PS4 has managed to beat the PSP's record. The official numbers from Sony have yet to be released, but assuming Chart-Track's numbers are any indication, it would be safe to assume that perhaps the PS4 would have sold maybe close to 200,000 or more at launch.

If you so happen to be in the US Army, I am quite sure that there are plenty of "toys" to play with, and these are more or less a whole lot more lethal and potent than just mere fireworks. Drones have been playing quite an important role in the military for quite some time now, as they are able to scout an area beforehand without having to put the lives of soldiers at risk. Heck, even drones can be armed with missiles, flying remotely to deliver the payload without the "pilot" leaving the comfort of a plush chair.
