Netflix Experiences Extended Outage On New Year's Eve

Netflix Experiences Extended Outage On New Year's Eve

Where were you during the great Netflix outage of Christmas 2012. If you were home attempting to enjoy your holiday break by attempting to access Netflix, then you know it was impossible to access its Instant Streaming service as it was completely crippled due to Amazon's issues with their ELBs. It looks as though people who are on holiday break between today and tomorrow to celebrate the coming new year will have to go without their Netflix fix as the service has been experiencing extended outages for the majority of the day.

BlackBerry X10 N Series Gets Another Round Of Photos

BlackBerry X10 N Series Gets Another Round Of Photos

We did manage to grab a look at the BlackBerry X10 recently, although those images were blurry to say the least, where the BlackBerry X10 will be part of the upcoming N Series smartphone, but this time around, here we are with more images of this N Series smartphone which boasts of a QWERTY keyboard, sporting far sharper images. I guess the ninja who took the photo had steadier hands, or perhaps, a better window of opportunity beckoned for the camera to make a decent capture. Other than newer images, no additional details concerning the BlackBerry 10 smartphone have been made public.

The Chisel 5 Dock Will Hold Your iPhone Snugly

The Chisel 5 Dock Will Hold Your iPhone Snugly

We've seen many iPhone docks in the past, although in this case, the Chisel 5 Bamboo iPhone dock is probably one of the more unique ones we've seen to date. So far docks for the iPhone usually include a base of sorts, but with the Chisel 5, it actually features a board made from bamboo with cutouts where your iPhone and the Lightning cable will fit in rather snugly. It is designed by iSkelter and is made out of renewable bamboo, so for those who are particular about whether their purchases are "green", you can rest assured with the Chisel 5.

Toyota already forecasting record sales in 2013

Toyota is expecting to see a sales increase of around two percent next year, according to Automotive News. The Japanese manufacturer is set to retake its position as the world's largest automaker this year, and 2013 may see the company's global sales step to 9.91 million vehicles. That figure includes sales from subsidiaries like Hino Motors and Daihatsu Motor Company. Much of that projection depends on US sales increasing to balance out a 15-percent decline in Japan.

Monitor Your Bicycle Tire Pressure With This Sensor

Monitor Your Bicycle Tire Pressure With This Sensor

Vehicles, especially cars that carry the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) sensors are not exactly a rare sight in this day and age, and are pretty handy in letting you know just what kind of pressure your tires have left within while you drive. Definitely an ideal method to know whether your ride's about to experience a flat or not, that's for sure. Since it is smart, and safe, how about transferring this particular idea over to the world of cyclists.

Justice Frangipane and iDevices have teamed up to create this case for the iPhone which not only double as a case for your iPhone device, but at the same time turns into a gaming controller, allowing you to play games with physical buttons and controls versus onscreen controls which some might find not as intuitive for certain games.

Medal of Honor, a major title since 1999 (boy, has the franchise been around that long already?), has apparently seen gun shop links from its site removed. This move was implemented by Electronic Arts, the publisher of the game, after pressure from groups who have suggested that video games do play a role in inciting real-world violence. According to a representative over at EA, “We felt it was inappropriate and took the links down.” Other than those links that lead one to shops that sell actual guns, other stuff such as company logos, and descriptions of the weapons, will remain on the game's website.

Amazon Sells Stolen iPhones

Amazon Sells Stolen iPhones

Receiving an iPhone as a Christmas present is probably at the top of everyone's wishlist. But, what if it is a stolen iPhone. Will it still be that special. Unfortunately, this happened to Ben Dreyfuss, who bought an iPhone for his mom this Christmas. When Ben's mom called Verizon to activate her shiny iPhone, she was shocked to hear that the unit was stolen. “Son, you gave me a stolen iPhone?” Ben's mom asked.

Apparently Ben had bought the iPhone from one of Amazon's refurbished warehouse deals. “It was one of those refurbished phones that actually came from an Amazon trade-in,” Dreyfuss said on Twitter.

This electric car spells the end of parking dings, self esteem

Humanix is a group of students at Japan's Hiroshima University who want to build a car that is kind to humans. What they've done, at least with this car, the iSAVE-SC1, is build an EV that is kind to the Earth and mankind, though a nemesis to self-respect. The body of the three-wheeled electric vehicle is covered in strong, air-filled cushions that can absorb the impact of collisions. The unlikely combination of build materials and this being a university project, that fact that it looks like a casting leftover from Cars 2 isn't surprising.
