BlackBerry has officially taken the wraps off of the 9720, its latest QWERTY-equipped smartphone that tries to keep the Curve spirit alive (although, of course, there's no Curve branding). The 9720 runs BlackBerry OS 7.1, and features: a 2.8 inch display with 480 x 360 pixels, HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, dedicated BBM key, 5MP rear camera, 806 MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, MicroSD card support, and a 1,450 mAh battery. The handset has five color versions: black, white, blue, pink, and purple.
BlackBerry says the 9720 will be released in the coming months in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
