LG E960 support manuals confirm Nexus 4 name, 8GB and 16GB configurations

The information leaks ahead Google's Android event next week continue to flow, with the latest thanks to support manuals on LG's Australian and UK websites. While we're already familiar with the phone's hardware thanks to a detailed Belarusian review, the manuals confirm it is going to be called the Nexus 4, and that along with the 8GB version we've seen there will definitely be a 16GB edition available. As you can see above, it also includes an induction coil for wireless charging and excludes any microSD slots for additional storage.

The Coyote Case will protect you and your iPhone

The Coyote Case will protect you and your iPhone

When it comes to protecting ourselves on the streets, there are a variety of options available, such as whistles aimed to draw attention to ourselves, pepper spray, tasers and etc. However if you don't want to carry an additional item with you while on the go, perhaps due to the lack of space in your pocket or handbag, then this Coyote case for your iPhone might be of interest to you, as not only will it protect your phone from drops and scratches, but it could also protect you by emitting a 100dB siren that will hopefully freak the other person out, and draw attention to you which could help scare away the attacker.

GM's Reuss: Next Cadillac Escalade to be 'much less ostentatious'

Within the next year or so, Cadillac will be launching its fourth-generation Escalade, and the SUV will be entering into a very different market than the one its predecessor first encountered in 2006. Over its history, General Motors' most expensive SUV has carved out a high-profile, highly profitable niche for itself as a larger-than-life, flamboyant style statement. But the next Escalade will dial back the chrome and the overtly conspicuous design that made it popular among attention-grabbing celebrities.

Bugatti working on Super Veyron with 1.6-second 0-60 mph time?

At some point, someone is going to have to hand the minds at Bugatti a physics book and tell them to settle down. Automobile reports the monarch of the Volkswagen stable is out to eclipse its own ludicrous performance threshold by building a new Super Veyron capable of snapping to 60 mph in 1.6 seconds. How. The company plans to shove even more carbon fiber at the ultracar while also turning up the horsepower.

Jeff Dunham's UltraViolet Mopar Challenger isn't plum crazy

Jeff Dunham's UltraViolet Mopar Challenger isn't plum crazy

What does comedian Jeff Dunham have to do with cars. We have no idea. That said, his name is attached to a pretty cool concept that debuted here at the 2012 SEMA Show. Called UltraViolet, the project is a collaboration between Mopar, Chrysler's in-house performance division, Dunham and Palmer's Customs, and the automaker says no body panel was left untouched.
First and foremost on the upgrade list is a new Mopar 426 crate engine pumping out 515 horsepower and 490 pound-feet of torque under a functional T/A hood. The car is lowered an inch and fitted with 22-inch wheels from HRE that ably fill the Challenger's wheel wells.

Microsoft sued due to Windows Live Tiles

Microsoft sued due to Windows Live Tiles

Microsoft's Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 have one thing in common – the implementation of Windows Live Tiles. I find the idea of Live Tiles to be a fascinating one, as you get to know what is going on in real time at a glance on your handset without having to actually fire up the app or program. Unfortunately for Microsoft, they seemed to have hit a speed bump this time around as a smaller operating system technology designer will be bringing Microsoft to court, citing that the software giant actually copied its technology for use in Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. SurfCast filed a complaint yesterday in a U.S.

Next Guild Wars 2 major content update arriving 15th November

Now it seems that due to Hurricane Sandy, there are many gamers affected by it which at the same time has affected their ability to play Guild Wars 2, which means that they are missing out on the Halloween special. Unsurprisingly many of these gamers have reached out to ArenaNet, asking them if it was possible for them to extend their Shadow of the Mad King Halloween event to make up for "lost time". Unfortunately for those players, it looks like ArenaNet will not be doing so, but at the same time it was revealed that this was because ArenaNet has a major content updated scheduled for the 15th of November.

Lipault 2-Wheeled Laptop Backpack review

The technology we carry around is continuously becoming lighter, smaller, faster, more feature-rich, etc. But many of us are having to carry more of it with us, either by choice or necessity. I regularly find myself taking my iPad and MacBook with me day in and day out, along with their power cords, odds and ends, plus paperwork as well. Let's face it, the weight we haul around adds up quickly.

IndyCar boss Bernard steps down under fire

IndyCar has had had a rough few years, as shakeups in engine suppliers, chassis designs and tragedy has dominated the open wheel race series' headlines. In spite of all that, many have said this was IndyCar's best season of racing ever. The man who oversaw all of that is Randy Bernard, who has stepped down on Sunday as IndyCar's CEO, ending a three-year run. This development comes as the culmination of a coup by some team owners against the group that controls IndyCar, Hulman & Co.

Amazon Compares Own Kindle Fire to iPad Mini

Amazon Compares Own Kindle Fire to iPad Mini

If you check out Amazon.com now, you would witness some dissing going on against the newly-launched iPad Mini. The ad starts with some not-so-flattering words about Apple's latest creation from Gizmodo: “Your (Apple's) 7.9-inch tablet has far fewer pixels than the competing 7-inch tablets. You're cramming a worse screen in there, charging more, and accusing others of compromise. Ballsy!” Amazon then shamelessly compares its own Kindle Fire tablet to the iPad Mini, bragging that its HD screen is no match to the Mini's SD display.

It seems that the folks over at the FCC are pretty busy, and this time around, they have to spend their time going through just what the HP ElitePad 900 is capable of offering, and since it has already arrived at the doorsteps of the FCC, it goes to show that the chances of the HP ElitePad 900 hitting the mass market has increased by a whole lot. The particular HP ElitePad 900 model that we are talking about here is a 3G version which targets road warriors, sporting the 850MHz, 1,700MHz and 1,900MHz bands that will play nice with AT&T, T-Mobile and Canadian networks.

You know what they say – a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and in the case of the US military with their vaunted army of Predator and Reaper drones, it was discovered that our men and women in uniform have failed to secure the transmissions of more than 50% of their drone fleet – this bit of information coming about four years after discovering that militants were already tapping its drone video feeds.

Apple iMessage sees second outage in a week, iTunes UK follows suit (update: back up, in theory)

Apple iMessage sees second outage in a week, iTunes UK follows suit (update: back up, in theory)

Apple may have a lot of iMessage users, but it has also had its share of teething troubles as the chat service (and iCloud) grows. That's certainly been true this month: Apple has confirmed that, for the second time in a week, iMessage is down for at least some users. There's a real chance those conversations won't go through unless it's between iPhone users that can try SMS. More pressing for anyone in the UK is a wider iTunes outage, as we've heard multiple reports of the app and media repository being inaccessible in the country no matter what device they use.

Acer delays Windows RT tablets as it gauges Surface acceptance

Acer is no stranger to airing its skepticism of Microsoft Surface, but the company is now adopting caution as the name of the game for its own Windows RT tablets. In an interview with Reuters, company president Jim Wong told the outlet that Acer would deliver its own RT-based tablet no earlier than Q2, as it's now monitoring how Microsoft's own hardware fares in the marketplace. According to Wong, Acer had previously targeted a Q1 debut. As it lets Microsoft serve as the canary in the coal mine, Acer will continue to focus on its full-fledged Windows 8 hardware, as well as develop and refine its own RT offering.

Square Enix could be reducing the price of its mobile games in the future

Chrono Trigger for Android was released not too long ago, although its asking price of $9.99 might put some gamers off. As we had said earlier, Square Enix has been known for pricing their games much higher compared to everyone else who sells games for a few dollars or even at the $0.99 range. That being said, Square Enix has defended their prices in the past, claiming that the quality of their games justifies its asking price, and while that might hold true, in an environment where apps (both games and non-games) sell for a dollar or less, wouldn't Square Enix be better off being a bit more competitive.

China goes from zero to 200 million 3G users in only three years

China goes from zero to 200 million 3G users in only three years

Considering that China 3G network trials only started in anger in 2009, and that the figure stood at 100 million users just last year, a new report from Sina Tech that the number now stands at 202.6 million is fairly mind boggling. The launch was delayed to begin with, as operators used an alphabet soup of different wireless technology and early results were mixed at best. But the popularity of certain devices along with the advent of microblogging sites like Weibo helped the service quickly gain traction after that, and now more people there use cellphones to surf the web than computers.

As Lord Eddard Stark said, Winter is Coming. And the best way to get ready is, well at least in Japan, not to learn how to fight these creatures from the north, but investing in Thanko's latest USB Futon Mouse pad warmer. Based on the “original” Japanese Futo concept this mouse pad warmer comes pretty much with everything including a cushion that will act here as a wrist rest, and get ready for a sweat or being “badly” burn since Thanko warned us that its USB Futon Mouse pad warmer is capable to reach up to 50 deg C ( 122 deg F ).
