Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will be a prologue that has been set a cool 9 years before The Phantom Pain, at least according to a snap from Kojima that depicted a display which shed more light about Ground Zeroes in greater detail. The text read, “Prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Takes place in 1975 after Peace Walker and nine years before The Phantom Pain.
