Apple recalling some iMacs with 1TB Seagate hard drives due to possible system failure

Apple recalling some iMacs with 1TB Seagate hard drives due to possible system failure

It seems that Apple has determined that several iMacs of the 21.5" and 27" variety sold in between October 2009 to July 2011 might have faulty hard drives that could cause system failure. This might be of interest to iMac owners with a 1TB Seagate hard drive as this is the hard drive that Apple has identified to be the problem. Of course iMac owners should be notified by email if they have registered their product with Apple, and according to the email, Apple will be replacing those drives for free. If you think that your iMac could be affected, we guess you should back up your data just to be safe in the event your hard drive does fail.
