Sony introduced an army of Handycams back at CES, but not a single one of them can withstand the elements. Thankfully, they seemed to have noticed it as well. Sony Japan has unveiled its first waterproof and dustproot Handycam, which features a whopping 20.4-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor. It is capable of capturing video clips with 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. The Sony HDR-GW77V also has a 3-inch swivel screen, 16GB of internal storage, and 10x optical zoom.
As for the rugged aspect, the company claims this camcorder can be submerged up to 16 feet of water and survive a five-foot drop to the floor.
