Tumblr takes its stand against a bill being passed in the United States Congress, which the social networking site believes would eventually censor the Internet. The bill, called the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), would block websites at the DNS level among other things. Although the bill has a popular following among lobby groups, major web companies–including AOL, eBay, Facebook, LinkedIn, Mozilla, Twitter, Yahoo, and Zynga–have sent a joint letter to Congress to address the issue.
