2013 Ford models hit with trio of recalls, 465k for fire risk

According to The Detroit News, Ford is issuing three separate recalls on new 2013 models, one of which affects 465,000 vehicles. That largest recall comes as the result of 600 complaints of fuel leaks, which could lead to a fire risk, the report indicates. Included in the 465k-unit recall are the 2013 Explorer, Flex, Fusion, Taurus and Police Interceptor sedan, as well as the Lincoln MKS, MKT and MKZ.

LG Optimus F7 for US Cellular leaks, could launch early July

It looks like our friends at US Cellular are just about ready to unveil their own version of the LG Optimus F7 soon. An anonymous tipster sent us these materials showing more information about the device following its appearance over at the FCC. It'll come to market with model number US780, but from what we can tell this device won't be much different from the original model LG's rolling out to other markets.

6-inch ASUS FonePad Note announced

6-inch ASUS FonePad Note announced

ASUS has come to the tablet with the phablet of all phablets, it seems. Beating Samsung to the 6-inch punch, ASUS has unveiled the ASUS Fonepad Note. The device will feature a stylus and 1080p resolution, and should be running some form of Android 4.x once it launches. The FonePad Note will have radios for data and voice, so users can use this ridiculously-sized device as a phone if they so wanted (we recommend a Bluetooth headset for something this huge, obviously). It'll be powered by Intel's 1.6GHz Z2560 Clover Trail+ processor with 2GB of RAM and an 8 megapixel camera.

X-Mini Uno and Max portable speakers review

X-Mini Uno and Max portable speakers review

If you read my article of Life as a Gadgeteer reviewer, you'll know that review gadgets that get used frequently after reviewing are far and few between. It's no secret that I loved the X-Mini Capsule II, KAI, and Max II (see related posts), and in fact these still get heaps of use and have gone way beyond review.  The kids love the portability of being able to take them to the beach, camping, and various other activities, plug in their phones or MP3 players and have music to share with their friends.

Vehicles stolen from NASCAR driver seized from home of rival racer

Vehicles stolen from NASCAR driver seized from home of rival racer

NASCAR is reliable as the Bank of England when it comes to delivering drama on and off the track. Today's off-oval headlines involve Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck series drivers Mike Harmon and Jennifer Jo Cobb (pictured above). A couple of weeks ago, on May 15, Cobb reported that someone stole a transporter from Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing and nearly $300,000 worth of vehicles inside. She told police she knew who did it and publicly named Mike Harmon and Sheila Rae Rice as the culprits.
