3D enters surgery room

3D technology is not just limited to video games and movies on the silver screen, but it seems that it can even be used to help save lives in the future. For the first time in the history of the Manchester Royal Infirmary, surgeons there have utilized full 3D projection during an operation. John Green, 62, from Openshaw, had the “honor” of being the first patient to undergo an operation to remove his prostate with the special addition of 3D projection. The team on duty naturally had to wear special glasses so that they can view the procedure in 3D.

Meizu MX and M9 receives Android 4.0 public beta update

Meizu's MX and M9 Android smartphones feature some pretty decent hardware, but unfortunately they are only available in China at the moment you've managed to get them imported. Well the good news for our readers in China or for those who have imported the device is that Meizu is pushing out the public beta of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The manufacturer had been working on the update for a while and after a month of private testing, it seems that a public beta is ready for the masses. Even better news is that it appears that Meizu decided not to follow the path of their competitors and has released Android 4.0 without a custom UI on top.

Internet Explorer claws back a bit of market share at the expense of Chrome and Firefox

It may have been on a steady decline for years (albeit still the number one web browser all along), but it looks like Internet Explorer has now once again found itself on a bit of an upswing. According to the latest numbers from Net Applications, IE (all versions included) gained a full percentage point in the past month (following a similar gain in January) to sit at a market share of 53.83 percent, its highest level since September of 2011. That growth came largely at the expense of Firefox and Chrome, which each dropped less than a percentage point to 20.55 and 18.57 percent, respectively (Safari and Opera also saw slight declines).

This is maybe the weirdest combo that we have seen from Sony since quite sometime. I am sure that we all remember Sony's HDR-PJ50V, PJ30V and PJ10, three compact camcorder introduced early January 2011 that came with a built-in video projector. Well Guess what. Transformers theme park in China created by artist

The human imagination knows no bounds, as evident by the Transformers theme park in China that was the brainchild of an artists, as evidenced by the image you see above. Located in Jiaxing City, China's Zhejiang Province, 49-year-old artist Zhu Kefeng alongside his team took a whopping 10 years to construct huge metal robots using nothing but recycled iron and steel parts. The beginnings were humble – he started off with a realistic model of a car, followed by opening a studio he can call his own to develop more intricate sculptures.

I remember back in the days where cellphones were extremely rare, and even those in existence were large enough to function as those hammers used to crack the shells of crabs when you are indulging in a little bit of seafood. As for smartphones and tablets, they were not even invented just yet. Pagers, however, are a very different thing, as it proved to be hugely popular in getting the attention of the pager's owner.
